Miguel Despaigne Trapaga

Miguel Despaigne Trapaga, born in Havana, Cuba, honed his musical talents under the mentorship of his uncle, the renowned percussionist and drummer José Luis Quintana, known as “Changuito,” with whom he studied for 9 years.

At the age of 16, Miguel began his musical career, performing with various bands in Cuba. In 2010, he won first prize at the international competition “Percussion Fiesta del Tambor.” He has collaborated with prominent artists such as Alain Daniel, Gardi, Pedrito Camacho, Pellito el Afrokan, Habana Swing, and Son de Hanja.

From 2015 to 2018, Miguel was a member of the “Habana Social Club” band, touring extensively across Europe and performing in countries like Hungary, Croatia, Slovakia, Malta, Slovenia, and Austria.

In 2023, Miguel rebranded himself as “MPE – Miguel Percussion Entertainment” and began working with one of Sicily’s leading agencies. This collaboration elevated his career, allowing him to perform at luxury venues like San Domenico and Villa St. Andrea in Taormina, among others.

In early 2024, Miguel joined a two-month tour with the “Habana Social Club” orchestra, performing in Hungary, Croatia, and Slovakia. Today, he continues to perform at exclusive events and shows for renowned artists and companies, both nationally and internationally.
